Each \u003ci\u003ePick-A-Par\u003c\/i\u003et score also contains a teacher’s piano accompaniment as well as a simpler student accompaniment to encourage collaborative student learning. All parts are colour-coded and are designed to make string ensemble playing engaging and enjoyable for young musicians and to create flexible options for teachers and conductors.\u003c\/p\u003e \u003cp\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e \u003cp\u003e\u003cspan style=\"font-size: small; font-family: 'arial black', 'avant garde';\"\u003eJigs, Reels 'n' Slides \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e \u003cp\u003eThese traditional fiddle tunes can be performed individually or in selected medleys. All pieces are in the related keys of G major\/e minor or D major, allowing them to be played consecutively in any order without a break. Use the final note of one piece as the counting in note of the next piece to play a continuous medley.\u003c\/p\u003e \u003cp\u003eReels are simple quadruple rhythm. Jigs, slip jigs and slides are respectively duple, triple and quadruple compound rhythms, according with the steps of each dance.\u003c\/p\u003e \u003cp\u003eThe melody is approximately Grade 1 or 2 standard. It can be played alone or with any or all of the other parts.\u003c\/p\u003e \u003cp\u003eHarmony 1 is a similar standard or slightly more difficult, for more advanced students.\u003c\/p\u003e \u003cp\u003eHarmony 2 is easier to play.\u003c\/p\u003e \u003cp\u003eNotes in brackets in the melody lines of the teacher’s score are for the lower pitched instruments.
