Description

A Country Lullaby is a beautiful piece for young band that depicts a pastoral scene of the country side, providing wonderful opportunities for the ensemble to "paint a picture." A strong feature of this subtle work is of flowing lines insistently moving to a goal, like a quiet mountain stream. The multiple moving lines help to shift the focus of the listener to the different tone colors of each instrument as they move in and out of the foreground, giving each instrument opportunities to shine by bringing out the melodic ideas written in each part.
