From folk and blues to country and rock, the 12-string guitar is favoured by advanced musicians because of its rich, bell-like tone. It has a natural chorus effect due to the subtle differences in the frequencies produced by each pair or strings. Colourful, iconic songs such as 'Stairway to Heaven' and 'Hotel California' were played on 12-string guitars.
