Description

SKU 601294H

This bright, bluesy shuffle opens with a piano solo which may be played as written or improvised. The saxes follow with the opening statement of the tune accompanied by stop-time figures in the rhythm section. As the chart unfolds, the melody is segmented and passed around the winds. The solo section moves through several ii - V progressions so your soloists will have an opportunity to play over these essential jazz changes. "Backburner" is marked at the tempo of 132, but it also sounds great at 108! Backburner Composer: Carl Strommen Publisher: Heritage Music Press Instrument: Jazz Ensemble Pages: 1
