When the piano pieces op. 118 became known to Brahms's contemporaries, they were thrilled. Clara Schumann was one of the first to get acquainted with the new works and attested to the pieces "in the smallest possible amount of an abundance of sensation". Philipp Spitta aptly said that the works are "right for slow absorption in silence and loneliness". Since the melancholic A major Intermezzo op. 118 No. 2 belongs to the most famous miniatures of the composer, G. Henle Verlag now offers it in a single edition. Thanks to its medium level of difficulty, even advanced students have a taste of the cosmos of Brahms' late work. Intermezzo in A major Op. 118 No. 2 Composer: Johannes Brahms Publisher: G.
