Description

The Dimarzio DP104FB Super 2 Humbucker Pickup in Black F-Spaced is designed for guitarists looking for a versatile and powerful pickup option. This humbucker is ideal for those who appreciate the classic sound of a Super Distortion® in the bridge position while also favoring hotter neck pickups.

The Super 2™ pickup enhances the traditional Super Distortion® sound by adjusting the EQ to favor the high-end frequencies. This results in a brighter top and lighter bottom, effectively balancing out the darker, overtone-heavy tones typically found near the fingerboard. It is particularly well-suited for cleaning up the overdrive sound of a mud-heavy 24¾’’ scale, two-humbucker guitar, or adding a snappy quality to a darker sounding 25½” bolt-on guitar.

Key features include:

- F-spaced design measuring 2.01" (51 mm) center-to-center from the first polepiece to the sixth

- Suitable for both bridge and neck positions

- Ideal for guitars with fixed bridges, including post-1998 Gibson® and Epiphone® models

- Recommended for tremolo-equipped guitars with a nut width of 1-11/16” (43mm) or more, particularly in the neck position

When replacing a bridge-position pickup, if you're uncertain about your string spacing, opting for an F-spaced model is generally the best choice. While it's not crucial for the strings to align perfectly over the center of the polepieces for optimal performance, it's advisable to avoid scenarios where the E strings are completely outside the outer polepieces.
