Introduced in 1989, the FRED® pickup was designed to enhance the mid-range of the PAF Pro® EQ. It has the same power as the PAF Pro® but produces unusual overtones that come alive, particularly with overdriven amps and distortion units. Renowned guitarist Joe Satriani was the first to recognize and utilize these characteristics, making it his primary bridge pickup.

The Dimarzio DP153 Fred Humbucker Pickup is highly sensitive to changes in pick attack and control settings, making it a versatile choice for a variety of musical styles. Whether you're recording penetrating solos or tight rhythm tracks, this pickup is sure to deliver exceptional performance.
