Description

SKU DP184C

The DiMarzio DP184 The Chopper Humbucker SC Style Pickup in Creme is a powerful and versatile pickup designed for electric guitars. Known for its punchy sound, The Chopper is the louder and more aggressive counterpart to the Fast Track 1 pickup, offering concentrated power in the mids and low end for a bigger sound with added crunch.

This pickup features a side-by-side coil and twin-blade construction, ensuring there are no misaligned poles or string-pull issues. Originally designed as a bridge pickup to pair with The Cruiser and Fast Track 1, it also performs well as a neck pickup when used with a hot humbucker in the bridge position.

Recommended for all positions, The Chopper provides a tonal quality that combines the characteristics of a single-coil and a full-size humbucker, delivering more body than a single-coil and greater clarity than a traditional humbucker. It is an excellent choice for fattening tone and increasing power, particularly in the Strat bridge position, where it can be used as part of a matched set with two Fast Track 1 pickups or a combination of Fast Track 1 and The Cruiser (DP187).
