Description

SKU DP225MG

The DiMarzio DP225 Billy Corgan BC-1 Pickup in Mint Green is a signature pickup designed in collaboration with the iconic frontman of The Smashing Pumpkins. This pickup is engineered to deliver a unique tonal experience, making it an excellent choice for guitarists seeking a rich, dynamic sound.

When DiMarzio worked with Billy Corgan on his signature Stratocaster pickups, they sent him several models to test. Corgan favored the Air Norton S in the neck, The Chopper in the middle, and The Tone Zone S in the bridge. After extensive testing during live performances, he requested modifications to enhance the depth of sound from the low strings while maintaining clarity and punch, even at high gain levels. DiMarzio achieved this by adjusting the frequency response of one of the coils in each pickup, allowing for boosted bass and open mids.

Key features of the DiMarzio DP225 BC-1 Pickup include:

- Recommended for all positions, especially the neck

- Quick Connect wiring for easy installation

- 4-conductor wiring for versatile configurations

- Ceramic magnet for a powerful tone

- Resistance of 11.62 kOhm

Introduced in 2009, the BC-1 pickups are designed to excel in both humbucking and split modes, providing a versatile range of tones. The pickup's specifications are similar to those of the Air Norton S, but with unique tuning that enhances the interaction between the coils, resulting in a more dynamic feel.

With a tone guide rating of:

- Bass: 5.5

- Low Mid: 7.0

- High Mid: 6.0

- Treble: 2.5

The DiMarzio DP225 Billy Corgan BC-1 Pickup is an ideal choice for musicians looking to capture the essence of Billy Corgan's sound while adding their own flair to their guitar setup.
