The DiMarzio PAF Pro Humbucker Pickup F Spacing in Cream is designed to deliver the classic PAF tone while accommodating wider string spacing, making it perfect for guitars with larger fretboard widths, such as those equipped with Floyd Rose or other locking tremolo systems.
This pickup offers a balanced, vintage-inspired sound with enhanced clarity and output, ideal for guitarists seeking a versatile and dynamic tone. Key features include:
- F-spaced design for wider string spacing
- Cream color finish
- Classic PAF-style tone with modern clarity
- Suitable for guitars with locking tremolo systems or wider fretboards
The PAF Pro was developed during the rise of chops-intensive playing and the popularity of high-gain amps. It combines a significant presence and cut with an open-sounding PAF vibe, allowing it to slice through heavy processing where darker pickups may get lost.
With a DC resistance of 8.40k and an output of 300mv, the PAF Pro provides a unique tonal profile with:
- Treble: 6.0
- Mid: 5.0
- Bass: 5.5
Low notes exhibit both snap and chunk, while a mid-range spike gives the pickup a distinctive vowel sound, reminiscent of a wah pedal in a fixed position. The treble response is finely tuned to ensure high notes stand out without becoming brittle.
Whether used as a neck pickup or an exceptional bridge pickup when high output isn't necessary, the DiMarzio PAF Pro is a high-quality, vintage-voiced option that enhances the tonal capabilities of any guitar. This pickup has been favored by renowned guitarists such as David Chastain, Doug Doppler, Brett Garsed, and Paul Gilbert.
