This book and companion audio provide essential lessons for the diatonic harmonica. The harmonica is simple to play and easy to transport. People have enjoyed playing this instrument since the early nineteenth century for these reasons, among others. If you are challenged by other musical instruments, the harmonica is for you. This book can be extremely helpful, even for non-beginners. The music and instruction presented require little or no previous musical experience. What do you need?A 10-hole diatonic harmonica in the key of C. To be able to breathe, that is exhale and inhale. To be able to pucker your lips. It's Dirt Simple! While playing, the instrument will train your ear to hear what is being played, helping you develop listening skills. The harmonica is the only instrument that is played by breathing both in and out through the instrument. It is a simple, fun breathing machine and may even improve the health of your lungs. Some of the best harmonica music is Americana music, which is sometimes referred to as American folk music. This is the style of music presented throughout the book, which highlights this original form of American music. Enjoy these wonderful tunes and become part of this great American tradition. Playing these tunes and timeless melodies is a way to own a piece of American folk lore. Tablature is used to simplify learning. Includes access to online audio.
