Description

SKU ED20317

This second volume of flute pieces too is based on today's flute teaching practice containing arrangements from the classical repertoire as well as own compositions by Gnther Johannes Schmitz. The pieces are quite different with regard to style partly influenced by jazz Impressionism world music or film music. 'Das Musefest' contains stylistic elements of Jewish music 'Zyklop' combines oriental and impressionist sounds. 'Fanfare der Gaukler' however evokes medieval sound associations mixed with modern playing techniques on the flute. 'Ragtime Holiday' and 'The Conquerer' were inspired by the King of Ragtime Scott Joplin. A jazz version of Rimsky-Korsakov's 'The Flight of the Bumble Bee' is an interesting encore and contained herein as is Bach's Badinerie. Some of the pieces have already been performed at the competition 'Jugend musiziert' and have proven a success. Easy Concert Pieces Vol. 2 Publisher: Schott Music Instrument: Flute Pages: 92
