Description

SKU ED13351D

Jazz music is one of the greatest challenges a violinist can face, as the very thought of improvisation is arguably terrifying for even the best classical musicians. This edition demystifies the whole process, taking you step-by-step through everything you need to know about playing jazz violin. Chris Haigh's style has been described as humorous, entertaining and addictive. This issue is anything but boring! Topics covered include analyzing a chord progression, slurring, chord symbols, how to create your own solo, and exploring the different styles of jazz including gypsy jazz, bebop, modal and fusion. This edition is packed with "bite-sized" portions of music, all explained and put into context. It's a treasure trove of licks and riffs to use in your improvisations, and also includes sample songs with solo examples. The edition contains 65 tracks to listen to and play along to download.
