Description

The Starfire IV is the model that made Guild's semi-hollow reputation, and this is the version wearing its most striking visual signature: the Guild harp tailpiece. That sculpted, open-frame tailpiece is pure 1960s Guild, and paired with a gloss black finish and cream binding it makes for one of the sharpest-looking semi-hollows on the wall.

Underneath the styling is a serious working instrument. The arched semi-hollow body is built around a solid centre block, so it holds together at volume in a way a fully hollow guitar will not, and a pair of Guild humbucking pickups covers warm jazz comping, thick blues leads and driven rock rhythm with equal ease.
