Description

With the change from harpsichord to fortepiano in the 1780s, Joseph Haydn had a rich palette of timbres and dynamic shades at his disposal, which the composer enthusiastically used in his C major fantasy. The piano piece written in the spring of 1789 "bey Moody Hour" should, according to Haydn's opinion, be applauded by "connoisseurs and non-connoisseurs" - especially since it is "not too heavy". With the stylistic fingering by Christine Schornsheim, this single edition based on the musical text of the Haydn Complete Edition is perfectly equipped for anyone who wants to understand Haydn's sound experiments on the piano.
