Description

Hero is the inspirational classic hit, originally sung by Mariah Carey and more recently made famous by the X-Factor finalists' cover version. This uplifting song is arranged here for SSA choir with Piano accompaniment. One of the biggest-selling singles ever, the song was originally written for Gloria Estefan to sing in the film Hero . Mariah Carey felt a disconnect between her own life and the lyrical content, until she was convinced to sing the song and she amended parts of it herself to make it more personal, turning it into the inspiring ballad it is today. The song has been re-recorded twice, with innumerable cover versions, and its message even providing comfort to Barack Obama during the 2009 elections.
