Description

SKU M3612538

Improvisation and creativity are encouraged from the start, with duets throughout the book to introduce ensemble playing. Although aimed at students from 13 years, the up-beat pieces and approach make it just as suitable for adults.

Hot Keys teaches piano technique and music literacy in a rounded and imaginative way. Both note reading and pattern recognition are of equal importance to creative opportunities such as composition, improvisation and playing by ear. Many of the pieces have words to aid note and rhythm learning, and there are inspiring accompaniments for the teacher to play. The innovative ideas and exercises encourage a good foundation and make learning the piano an enjoyable experience. Teacher and student parts are both available on the MP3 backing tracks, which also include a rhythm section.

This book takes the student from complete beginner to Grade 1 standard in classical or jazz piano.
