The Humistat helps protect all stringed and woodwind instruments. The greatest threat to your instrument is lack of humidity, Dryness causes wood to shrink, warp and crack. With its patented regulator ring, the Humistat releases the exact amount of moisture needed to maintain proper humidity... preventing damage. You can select the required amount of humidity by adjusting the regulator ring. In regionally dry climates, as well as throughout the winter season, the Humistat is essential protection for your musical instrument. How To Use The Humistat The Humistat is designed to be mounted or placed in your instrument case. Fill unit until water emerges from evaporation slots. By firmly closing filler cap, a vacuum is created which makes leaking impossible. One piece of Velcro supplied is affixed to the rear of the Humistat. Remove the protective backing from the other part of Velcro and affix it firmly to the inside of your case at desired location. (Note: Be sure to have ample clearance for your instrument before affixing Velcro to case) Set regulator ring for desired amount of evaporation, depending upon your climate. Check regularly and refill as needed. When not in use, keep your instrument in its case with the lid firmly closed.
