Description

SKU HN1238

The highly virtuoso concert piece from 1863 is one of the compositions that Saint-Sans wrote especially for his friend Pablo de Sarasate. And the great violin virtuosos of the 19th century, first the devotee himself, later especially Eugne Ysae, also inspired the audience for the work. "A kind of fantasy waltz in the Spanish style and with a charming effect," judged in 1876 a music critic. Today the piece belongs to the fixed repertoire of all great violinists. The Henle Urtext Edition is the first critical edition of the work. Augustin Hadelich could be won for the title of the solo part.
