Mano conguitas (mini congas) are a fantastic option offering more portability than full-sized congas. They can complement the conga or sit center stage with their strong percussive sound. The Mano Percussion MP1690NA 9 & 10 Inch Conguita Set with Stand is comprised of half-size congas, featuring select wood shells with chrome traditional-style rims and hardware. Percussionists at Scarlett Music love how the natural rawhide tucked heads offer great sound. Each set comes with a height adjustable, double braced stand. Congas are traditionally used in Afro-Cuban genres such as conga and rumba, although they are now very common in some other forms of Latin music, including descarga, Afro-Cuban jazz, salsa, songo, merengue and Latin rock. Conguitas are the result of players wanting more portability in their instrument. These mini congas sit somewhere in between congas and bongos, both in sound and size.
