The MXR Layers Pedal by Jim Dunlop is a powerful tool designed to enhance your musical creativity with rich, organic sustain. This pedal allows you to imbue every strum and pluck with resonance and depth, enabling you to explore chord voicings you never thought possible, compose transcendent melodies, orchestrate harmonic ensembles, and create lively stereo pads—all within a standard MXR housing.

Equipped with a versatile suite of controls, the MXR Layers Pedal can be tailored to your needs, whether you prefer a simple setup or a more complex arrangement. It features the ability to hold up to three layers, each indicated by its own mini LED. You can choose to engage just a single layer or multiple layers, utilizing the Single switch for a more straightforward approach.

The pedal offers two primary methods for triggering layers: via the footswitch or through your playing dynamics. By holding down the footswitch while playing a note or chord, you can create layers that fade according to your Decay knob setting, perfect for composing intricate solos over droning accompaniments. Alternatively, the Trig knob allows for automatic triggering of layers based on your attack intensity, providing an additional layer of creative complexity.

Key features of the MXR Layers Pedal include:

- Mix knob: Adjusts the wet signal level to control the volume of your layers.

- Trig knob: Sets the sensitivity for the auto-trigger function, enabling new layers based on your pick strokes.

- Attack knob: Adjusts the fade-in time of each layer.

- Decay knob: Controls the fade-out time, mimicking the natural decay of a physical string.

- Sub Oct switch: Lowers one or more layers by an octave for a thicker sound.

Beyond its core functionalities, the MXR Layers Pedal also offers advanced programming options for those looking to customize their sound further. You can adjust parameters such as modulation intensity, delay time, and diffusion. The pedal can be powered by a 9-volt (300mA) center-negative power supply, compatible with the Dunlop ECB003 adapter or various MXR Iso-Brick power supplies. Please note that this pedal cannot be powered by a battery.
