The Orphan Girl folio is comprised of three beautiful Brendan Graham songs including Orphan Girl, The Whitest Flower and You Raise Me Up (music by Rolf Lvland). Each song is expertly arranged by Roger Emerson in 2-part with Piano with inclusion of the full choral score as well as reproducible vocal scores for schools. Brendan Graham is a best-selling Irish novelist and one of the world's most in-demand songwriters, who wrote these songs to honour those 4,112 young Irish women who, fleeing Famine inIreland had come in hope and prayer to Australia. Like the Orphan Girls themselves, these songs have come out of Ireland to Australia. Througho ut the book we learn about the story behind each song and this importantIrish & Australian History through Brendan Graham's detailed narratives and photos. There is a matching EP of the Orphan Girl recorded by the Australian Girls Choir and Sarah Calderwood, available from the Great Irish Famine Commemoration Committee in Sydney who raise funds and assistspresent-day, female refugees in Australia.
