Description

Tonica rosin is a metallic orange rosin from Pirastro, developed specifically for use with the brand’s Tonica synthetic-core strings. It sits in the middle of Pirastro’s hardness range, offering medium hardness and medium grip rather than the firmer feel of steel-string rosins or the softer feel suited to gut. This makes it a balanced, general-purpose option for violinists using Tonica strings or other synthetic strings of similar tension. As with all Pirastro rosins, the cake is mounted on a soft cloth backing for clean handling, and only a thin, even coat across the bow hair is needed per application.
