Description

Pizzicato Boogie is designed to be a first concert piece for beginning strings. As the piece uses no bowings and only open strings, students can perform this work after just a few lessons. The composition is a great way to teach beginners how to read open strings on the staff as well as learn pizzicato technique. The piano part is a simple twelve bar blues progression in traditional boogie-woogie style and can be altered to fit the ability level of the pianist. If a pianist is not available, simply email Mekel Rogers at mekelrogers@earthlink.net for a FREE mp3 file of the piano part with which the students can play along.
