Description

The composer Eduard Putz (1911-2000) studied composition at the Musikhochschule in Cologne with Heinrich Lemacher Hermann Schroeder and Kaspar Roeseling. Later he worked as a teacher of theory at the Rheinische Musikschule in Cologne. His particular interest was in connecting serious with light music. 'Jazz Capriccio' is a cheerful piece with a 'composed-out' final cadence which within the meaning of a jazz improvisation can also be replaced by an improvisation of one's own.
