Focussing on the lower range of the instrument, reaching up to the heady heights of (written) middle C, these will make a humorous addition to any concert; l'Elephant from Carnival of the Animals by Saint-Saens, Dance of the Hours by Ponchielli, and The Policeman's song by Arthur Sullivan. The bassoon parts are rhythmically easier, but do reach top B in places.
