Description

SKU ED7588DEV

Canons during the centuries, from the 13th-century 'Sumer is icumen in' to contemporary canons, specially composed for this volume. Whether serious or purely for entertainment, there is material for any occasion imaginable: well-known favorites, funny or contemplative, even liturgical. Formally the pieces range from simple folk styles to complex and highly demanding compositions. The volume is first and foremost intended for schools and choral tuition, with special regard to relevant aspects of vocal training. But it is also an interesting compendium of various imitatory composition techniques for the serious student.
