Who doesn't like to sing gospels and spirituals? Catchy melodies delightful call and response between leader and group infectious rhythms with their inherent call to movement and not least of all the universal appeal of the themes in their entirety – all contribute to the great popularity of these song-forms. ‘The Spiritual & Gospel Choir Book’ presents the best-known numbers in new arrangements with a groovy modern approach and colourful harmonies. The melodies are sung either as solos or over rhythmic motifs which can in turn be repeated as vamps for introductions or codas as desired. Instrumental accompaniment becomes not only possible but easy with the inclusion of chord symbols – and furthermore reawaken to the fun and enjoyment by listening to the accompanying CD with sing-along tracks as well as recordings of all the songs in the book. Keep on groovin’! The gospel train is a comin’! The Spiritual & Gospel Choirbook Publisher: Schott Music Instrument: Choral Format: Choral Score Pages: 64
