It is well known that the French horn plays a prominent role as the most "romantic" of all instruments in Weber's oeuvre - "Freischutz" or "Oberon" are unthinkable without longing or blaring horns. Weber not only dedicated the instrument to important solo parts in his operas, but also to a virtuoso concert piece that is still one of the heaviest test pieces in horn literature - not only because the soloist has to play three-part chords (!) In the cadenza ... Based on the autograph, the engraver's copy and the first print reviewed by Weber, this Henle Urtext edition offers the best prerequisites for rehearsing this effective virtuoso piece.
